Domaine de Fontenille

Sustainable tourism

Domaine de Fontenille rolls out its green carpet for a majestic welcome to the heart of the Luberon. At the end of an impeccable lawn, beneath the foliage of plane trees and century-old cedars, stands a vast and prestigious residence. This refined setting, carved out of centuries of history and elegance, is the quintessence of the Provencal soul. It lends itself to the finest experiences, in the midst of sublime nature.
While the vineyard (certified organic) favors sustainable agriculture, an educational vegetable garden opts for permaculture, offering an inexhaustible source of revelations about our ecosystems… Fresh flowers decorate rooms and plates, and vegetables inspire chefs’ menus.
Here, nature is at the heart of every well-being.

In the heart of Provence, about 25 mins from Aix en Provence and 4 km from Lourmarin, a leading tourist destination of Luberon, the Domaine de Fontenille is one of the rare Provençal properties that has retained its original appearance.

Bordered by the Luberon foothills and the Montagne Ste Victoire, this country house, characterized by the classical architecture, lies within its landscaped grounds protected by cedars and plane trees, and is surrounded by wild landscapes and wines as far as the eye can see. The park includes several gardens, a 20 meter heated outdoor swimming pool, fitness center and a hammam that all invite you to experience total tranquility for your weill-being. Each of the Domain’s 17 refined and discreet luxury rooms and suites are unique. Bright and facing the garden, these rooms blend different styles, classicism tinged with the warm rays of the south, with flowing and poetic contemporary lines. The gourmet restaurant “Le Champs des Lunes” and “La Cuisine d’Amélie” restaurant are led by the starred chef Jérôme Faure, who offers you spontaneous cuisine, both modern and close to the terroir. Currently being converted to organic farming, the Domain offers well-crafted wines. The wine cellar and the tasting shop are open to visitors all year round. Contemporary art is everywhere at the Domain : each family room and bedroom is decorated with one of more contemporary artists from the collections of major museums. In addition, the former wine cellar annually hosts 4 collective thematic or personal exhibitions from contemporary artists, in partnership with galleries and international institutions. Domaine de Fontenille is a fine example of the Fench Art of Living, elagant, simple, and the means to stop time.
