Domaine de MasLauris

Sustainable tourism

Built around an old farmhouse on the southern slopes of the Luberon, Domaine de MasLauris overlooks the Durance plain and Sainte-Victoire.
It was here, over 10 years ago, that Didier and Margeaux chose to anchor their dream. Close to nature, the owners were committed from the outset to making a wine in harmony with the terroir.
Thanks to carefully selected grape varieties adapted to the soil typicity, manual harvesting and the construction of a gravity-fed winery that promotes environmentally-friendly vinification, the 12 ha of the estate now produce AOP Luberon wines in 3 100% organic colors!

MasLauris The Domaine is located in the heart of Provence, on one of thefinest terroir of the Luberon. Domain lands extend over soft hills, near the village of Lauris, between the Luberon and the Durance.

From the property, one discovers a magnificent panorama of the Luberon, from the peak of the Mourre Négre to the Montagne Sainte-Victoire, by way of Aix-en-Provence.Passionate about wine and the region, the owners of the Domaine MasLauris dreamed of a place of exception. A vineyard which could produce great wines, elegant, distinguished and rooted in the land, in harmony with their environment, using manufacturing methods that combine traditional and modern winemaking techniques, such as concrete tanks for the preparation of the red wines. Since 2012, the property has been completely redesigned. It has benefited from a complete renovation with the construction of a brand new gravity winery, preceded by the grubbing up of the original vineyard and replanting of nearly 10 hectares of young vines. These vines were carefully selected in order to find the same quality as the finest wines of the Rhone Valley. They are maintained using organic farming methods. Vinification at the winery is carried out in a gentle though rigorous manner, as naturally as possible and with respect for the harvested grapes. It is conducted with the guidance of Michel Tardieu, who grew up in Lauris, the very place where the vineyard is located. Completely replanted, the vines spread out in one contiguous stretch around the property. They benefit from both exceptional sunshine and cool nights in the summer, following the often dry and harsh winters. The presence of the Mistral wind in the region brings coolness and ensures the impeccable condition of the grapes and thereby a healthy harvest. Particular care is used in vine management, following organic agriculture methods. The Domaine MasLauris has chosen to use the same grape varieties used to produce some of the great wines of the Rhône and the south of France: Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Cinsault for the red and rosé wines, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, Vermentino and Viognier for the white wines. Harvests are entirely manual, harvested at optimum ripeness, thanks to our own rigorous monitoring of grape maturity. True to its Provencal roots, the Domaine MasLauris will produce red, rosé and white wines. The first harvests of the vineyard will take place in 2016. Meanwhile, Les Terres de MasLauris, sister of the Domaine MasLauris, will commercialize red and rosé wines in 2016. Vinification will take place at the Domaine under the guidance of Michel Tardieu.
