Eglise Saint Etienne

Découvrez une partie de l’histoire de Vitrolles en Luberon, petit village pittoresque du sud Luberon en arpentant ce joli édifice d’origine romane rempli de charme.

Parish church of Saint-Etienne and its Romanesque bell tower. Mentioned from 1274, it consists of a nave with two bays and a vaulted rectangular apse semicircular cradle. It was abandoned in the fifteenth century and was in ruins in 1620. It is restored before 1632 and has a side chapel (now 1st span nave) in 1661. In 1683 the original nave was partially demolished to be replaced by the current nave with the choir and the sacristy.
